Illium: A Troublemaker (Or Illium: Conrad Verner) is an Assignment in Mass Effect 2. Illium: A Troublemaker is about dealing with Conrad Verner, who is making trouble in Eternity, a popular bar on Illium. Assignments are secondary quests in Mass Effect 2, that are not mandatory to progress the game's story, but provide context and flavor by meeting interesting NPCs of all kind of Races, granting additional experience, and letting the player visit extraordinary and unique planets.
Illium: A Troublemaker Walkthrough
Once you speak with Conrad Verner, he believes the bar is a font for distributing red sand, a powerful drug, and that he was given this information by the Gateway Personal Defense dealer.
The bartender insists that the bar does not sell red sand. When confronted with this information, the dealer reveals that her motives were to get the deed of the bar in order to advance her business. You now have the option to use Charm or Intimidate, if you have the option available.
Paragon:
You can play along with the dealer and persuade her to demand the deed herself, leading to her arrest because the owner had surveillance and security following the previous events with Conrad Verner. He will be confused about what has just happened. You can:
- Lie to him, stating that the dealer was actually a deep cover operative belonging to a terrorist cell and his contribution helped a lot. (Charm)
- Tell him that he ruined everything (Intimidate)
- Tell him the truth about what actually happened.
Renegade:
You can threaten the dealer and make her lie to Conrad Verner, telling him that he helped take care of the red sand dealers, this nets you a discount at her store. You can:
- You can tell Conrad Verner that he did well, but he should stop
- You can lie to him telling him that the operation was dangerous and he could have been killed, this leads to Conrad apologizing to you.
How to unlock Illium: A Troublemaker
- This Assignment is only available if you completed Citadel: The Fan, by using the Charm or Intimidate option, and imported that save file.
Outside the Eternity club, you will find an Asari that tells you a man is causing trouble inside the bar.
