Getting Ready
This is yet another Assignment in which you will face many synthetic Enemies, specially Mechs, so try to bring someone capable of using Overload or AI Hacking.
Walkthrough
At the moment you exit the shuttle, you receive a warning of possible incoming sand storms from the northwest.
When you regain control, turn around to loot a crate of Platinum. To the left, near the second ramp, you can salvage some damaged mech parts to obtain credits, and in the middle of the opening area, you can find a datapad with the Ship's status report. It tells you that the VI went out of control and the Captain had to lock it out. Before proceeding closer to the crash site, you will find another set of damaged mech parts to the right that can be salvaged for more Credits.
The path now splits in two. To the right you can find another Platinum crate, and to the left you can find the Navigator's log and yet another Platinum crate. Once you have looted everything, proceed into the large area in the shadow of the crashed ship. You will find another datapad with the ship's evacuation order, a med-kit some more salvageable damaged mech parts, more Platinum and the ship's shipping manifest. You will learn that the ship was transporting a staggering number of mechs.
You will find some Power cells and the security report up on the plateau where the distress beacon is located. You learn from the security report that the mechs were activating and then self-destructing. Head over to the transmitter and deactivate it.
Once you deactivate it, LOKI Mechs will come for you, get into cover to fight your way back to the shuttle. Sadly, as you get closer to the shuttle your visibility will decrease because of the sandstorm mentioned at the beginning of the Assignment.
If you decide to remain at the transmitter and hold the position, you will be attacked by 10 LOKI Mechs, and once they are down you won't be attacked further until you advance.
You now have to decide how to approach the Assignment:
- You learned from the manifest lists that there are 180 LOKI Mechs and a YMIR Mech. So you can decide to take them all out, this is a long process, and once all the Mechs are gone, the Assignment is automatically completed.
- If you are an Infiltrator you can use the Enhanced Cloak to run back to the shuttle.
- If you are a Vanguard you can use Charge to sprint from Enemy to Enemy and be in the shuttle in just three sprints.
Pick whichever path to suits you best. The YMIR Mech will show up, but the LOKI Mechs around will complicate focusing on it entirely. A good idea is to split up your roles, letting your squadmates focus on the LOKI Mechs while you focus on the YMIR Mech, or vice versa. Once you defeat the big Mech, keep going towards the shuttle and dealing with the remaining LOKI Mechs. The Assignment ends once you reach the shuttle, so if you are relatively near, you can make a run for it even while under fire.
