Enemies in Mass Effect 2 are hostile characters that can be encountered throughout the game. Enemies' purpose is to attack Commander Shepard and their Companions. Some Enemies can be avoided and it's not necesary to kill them, but some other must die, to be able for Shepard to continue with the story. Enemies have their own strengths and weaknesses, allowing players to choose different strategies to engage in combat.
Killing Enemies grants experience points to Shepard and their Companions and also they may drop various useful Items during the journey that will help the story push forward.
