Engineer is a Class in Mass Effect 2. Engineer is a tech specialist and the only class able to employ combat drones on the battlefield. Classes are pre-made character roles with their own particularities and pre-set Powers. Players can change these values during Character Creation to fit their own play style.

Engineers can spawn combat drones to harass enemies or force them out of entrenched cover positions.

Engineer Passive Class Power Progression
Tech Mastery: Increases your Health and Weapon Damage while improves your Paragon and Renegade score and Research Project Cost

Engineer Specialization Class
When Tech Mastery reaches Rank 4, players need to choose between two final evolutions.
Once you have chosen an evolution, you can not change it back.
Mechanic
Improves even more your Powers Cooldown, and they last longer. Besides, you receive an extra bonus for your Paragon-Renegade score.
